SIMULATED ACTIVITY · NOT LIVE TRAFFIC

Asheville trail pilot

The figures are an animated illustration on real route geometry. They are not live people, tracked users, or measured trail traffic. Source geometry and legal access are independent.

OpenStreetMap paths

© OpenStreetMap contributors. OSM geometry, tags and relation membership are provided under ODbL 1.0. A single cached regional extract was retrieved from VK Maps Overpass on November 4, 2026. The OSM instance registry documents the provider's any-project use policy. The browser makes no Overpass or OSM raster-tile requests for this layer.

Access policy

Walking and cycling require explicit suitable mode tags. Private/prohibited, uncertain conditional, dismount cycling, blocked-node and unknown-height structure cases are omitted conservatively. Route relations retain IDs, tags and member roles; a hiking relation never grants bicycle permission. Missing access information is unknown, not permission. The pilot is illustrative, not a navigation or current-closure service.

GPX traces

The following actual files were inspected before regional assignment. Their separate track segments and original vertex order are preserved. GPX creator: GaiaGPS. No reuse license or access permission was declared in the source catalog or GPX files; none is invented here. These traces came from the user-provided Adventure Collective catalog, separate from mapper.one. Figures are allowed only on parts verified against suitable OSM geometry; other parts remain trace overlays.

Map providers

The existing terrain, satellite and building layers are retained. VersaTiles documents its public OSM tile service. Imagery remains © Esri and its named contributors, subject to the Esri service terms and applicable account/data rights; it is streamed, not bundled by this activity layer. Elevation remains Mapzen Terrarium. OSMF raster tile policy is distinct from the OSM data license; this layer does not scrape or prefetch OSM raster tiles.
